DREAMfest, Third Thursdays Downtown
(5 to 8 p.m. Concert begins at 6:30 p.m.) - DREAMfest is a gathering of exhibits, entertainment, refreshments and featured artists in downtown Summerville on third Thursdays each month from May to September, 5 to 8 p.m. Teaming with Art Central, the gallery will host an Art Walk each month on Short Central. Concerts will take place on Hutchinson Square. Shops and restaurants will be open later and community organizations will be encouraged to have booths around the downtown district.

The first concert featuring the Heritage Aire Celtic Ensemble will be held on Thursday, May 15 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Bring a beach blanket or a lawn chair and enjoy! The Heritage Aire Celtic Ensemble made its debut performance with the Heritage of America Concert Band during the “Holidays, Past and Present” concert series in December, 2004. Under the direction of TSgt Sherry Burt, Heritage Aire blends a contemporary musical approach with traditional Celtic music style to create a stunning musical tapestry. The members of Heritage Aire perform on traditional instruments such as the Irish flute, tin whistles, button accordion, and bodhran. They also employ modern instruments like the acoustic guitar and clarinet to achieve their unique sound. Heritage Aire celebrates America’s great cultural diversity by performing concerts in communities and schools throughout a six state region. The ensemble also provides entertainment and musical support for military protocol events. No alcoholic beverages permitted. Refreshments sponsored by First Citizens Bank.

Sculpture in the South
(Sat 10 am - 6 pm; Sun 10 am - 5 pm) - Get up close and personal with 35 renowned artists from across the country as they present their fine art sculpture in Summerville's Azalea Park. Discover a broad range of original sculpture from Western to wildlife, awe-inspiring to abstract. Artists demonstrate techniques and processes that show how sculpture is created. Award-winning SC barbecue served from the outdoor grill. Proceeds from this tenth annual exhibit and sale benefit public sculpture acquisition for Summerville.

The concert featuring A Touch of Class will be held on Thursday, June 19 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Bring a beach blanket or a lawn chair and enjoy! A Touch of Class is a show band with performances that incorporate the flavor of a variety of music styles including Beach, Motown, R&B and Reggae. From the classics in jazz to the tail shaking funk, A Touch of Class will guarantee a great time. No alcoholic beverages permitted.

Red, White and Blue on the Green
(4 to 7 p.m.) - DREAM’s annual 4th of July celebration “Red, White and Blue on the Green” is an old fashioned celebration focuses on families and the community. Join the non-motorized parade, featuring kids on bikes, in wagons, on rollerblades, in strollers - all decked out for America. Magic Show, games and activities for children of all ages, live music, jump castles and food vendors round out this fun event. All proceeds benefit Historic Downtown Summerville. Registration for the non-motorized parade begins at 4 p.m. Prizes will be awarded for Most Patriotic, Most Original and Most Patriotic Pet. Fireworks show will start at 9 pm at Gahagan Sports Complex. Music and concessions start at 7 pm. No coolers/alcoholic beverages allowed. Fireworks show sponsored by Dorchester County and the Town of Summerville.

Ann Caldwell is known in the Lowcountry as the "first lady of jazz." Working full time as a jazz performer, her credits include performances for Piccolo Spoleto and as a featured vocalist with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra and the Gospel Choir with the CSO. No alcoholic beverages permitted.

The concert featuring Common Ground will be held on Thursday, September 18 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Bring a beach blanket or a lawn chair and enjoy! Common Ground is one of Charleston's longest running bluegrass groups blending the traditional sounds of banjo, acoustic guitar and bass with harmonica giving them a unique sound unrivaled in the Lowcountry. The band also features the grassroots harmonies that bluegrass is known for. Covering a multitude of traditional music, Common Ground also compose their own original tunes. No alcoholic beverages permitted.

Harvest Moon Hayride and JSL Ghost Walk
(6 to 9 p.m.) - The Junior Service League of Summerville and Summerville D.R.E.A.M. (Downtown Restoration, Enhancement and Management) will host the annual Ghostwalk and Harvest Moon Hayride on Saturday, Oct. 25 from 6 to 9 p.m. in Historic Downtown Summerville.
The Junior Service League’s annual Ghostwalk is a fundraiser for area schools, which Summerville D.R.E.A.M. in turn supports by entertaining “ghost walkers” waiting for the tour with the Harvest Moon Hayride and a spooky concession stand. More joint activities include glow-in-the-dark face painting by the Summerville Artist Guild, children’s “stations” with activities such as a cupcake walk, apple jumping, fortune tellers, pumpkin decorating and much more.
