There are so many reasons to become a member of Summerville D.R.E.A.M. Having a D.R.E.A.M. membership says that you are actively taking part in helping downtown Summerville become a better place to dine, shop, visit and stay! Benefits for D.R.E.A.M. members include:

• ACCESS to Main Street resources including our façade renovation program, lending library and online webinars that cover a wide range of topics to give you the edge in business.

• ADVERTISING discounts in Summerville’s newest magazine Azalea. targeted for the Summerville community, Azalea is offering a 5 percent discount to all D.R.E.A.M. members on advertising. Other advertising opportunities include the chance to participate in our December ‘Lowcountry Live’ television spots promoting “DREAM” Week in Summerville and newspaper co-operative advertising opportunities at discounted rates. Special rates and marketing programs are offered by the local media at different times for the D.R.E.A.M. membership such as the current option through Knology cable as a business  member. And try out the latest in new marketing venues such as MobiDeals offered by Sinclair Broadcasting Co.

• SOCIAL NETWORKING Summerville D.R.E.A.M. will promote your business on social media outlets such as Facebook and Twitter. We currently have over 6000 fans on Facebook and are working to build a strong following on Twitter with our account (SvilleDREAM). D.R.E.A.M. uses these outlets to promote its events as well as events and promotions of its member businesses. We send out a monthly Third Thursday email blast to inform the public about the events and specials occurring that evening.

• CALENDAR/NEWSLETTER Summerville D.R.E.A.M. produces a quarterly newsletter to educate the local population about new members, upcoming events, and trends in the local community. We also produce a twice monthly electronic newsletter to inform our members and friends about the businesses specials and community events.

• GIFT CERTIFICATES Summerville D.R.E.A.M. gift certificates can be redeemed at any downtown business -- DREAM members have free redemption while non-members will be charged a 10 percent fee upon return to the D.R.E.A.M. offices. Included with each gift certificate will be a list of D.R.E.A.M. members to encourage shoppers to support those retailers.

• INCLUSION in various brochures and maps that are produced by Summerville D.R.E.A.M. and distributed to Visitor’s Centers throughout the state. You will also be listed on the members section of our website at www.summervilledream.org.

• INVITATIONS to join periodic events such as Merchant Meetings hosted by Summerville D.R.E.A.M. as a resource for business owners to network with others and discuss issues and events with D.R.E.A.M. Board Members and Staff. The meetings are designed to give you a voice on what is important to you and strengthen bonds in the community.

• SUMMERVILLE EVENTS As a D.R.E.A.M. member you will have the first opportunity to participate in our monthly Third Thursdays, Red, White and Blue on the Green, the town’s annual Fourth of July celebration, the Harvest Festival held each October before Halloween and the annual Summerville Christmas Parade – an event that draws over 10,000 people each year.

• A VOICE in the direction of Summerville D.R.E.A.M. We are always looking for volunteers to join one of our four committees: Design, Economic Development, Organization and Promotions. Summerville D.R.E.A.M. is successful because of the tireless effort of its board, members and volunteers. Help us help you!
