The Summerville DREAM Design Committee is planning a new downtown project. We want to “Flower the Town” and spread hanging flower baskets throughout the downtown area. Our hope is that as visitors approach Historic Downtown Summerville there will be no doubt they have found “Flowertown” and they will visit, dine and shop with us and enjoy all that we have to offer. This project will need support from the entire community as funding is needed to provide the brackets and baskets, as well as plantings to fill them, and watering to keep them fresh and alive. The Town of Summerville has committed to having the Summerville Fire Department help with the watering tasks with their pump trucks. The town will also help with installation of the brackets and baskets. DREAM is looking for community help to fund the costs of the hanging baskets and to find some volunteers to help with the plantings for the baskets
Financing a hanging flower basket will cost $150 per basket and the plan is to have two flower baskets per lamp post in downtown. The committee has a plan for which lamp posts will have flower baskets. The first four sets of baskets will be going up South Main Street in late March, right before the Flowertown Festival to welcome all the visitors to town. Then Summerville DREAM has a plan to spread the baskets throughout the downtown in groups of four lamp posts at a time. If you, your business or community group would like to demonstrate your commitment to the beautification of our downtown we would ask you to get in touch with Summerville DREAM at info@summervilledream.org or (843) 821-7260. Financial donations of all sizes are needed to fund the continuous plantings for the hanging baskets as well as initial purchase of the hardware. Please help us Flower the Town!

We would like to thank our Flower Basket Sponsors for their generous donations. 43 baskets have been sponsored as of
