Promotions
Chairs: Alix Kassing & Diane Frankenberger

This committee includes internal promotions for the Town of Summerville (Events such as "Red, White and Blue on the GREEN" or “Holly Days") which encourage community spirit and bring together the residents of Summerville; and the external promotion of Historic Downtown Summerville to non-residents, encouraging visitors to come to Summerville for its beauty, history, restaurants and shopping. (Advertising and marketing)

Design
Chair: Bill Beauchene

This committee works to make Summerville a more beautiful place by means of supporting strong design guidelines for commercial construction and landscaping in the town and through streetscape improvements and the planting of trees and foliage. The Mary P. Whittemore Beautification Fund (established by Joe Whittemore in his mother's memory) has made it possible to pool individual donations for the purchase of substantial trees to go on public land in Summerville. The Design committee also works to secure grants for design projects such as our entranceway signage.

Economic Restructuring
Chairs: Chris Bauer & Sara Wiggins

The responsibilities include defining what businesses are needed in (or missing from) Summerville, listening to the needs of the business community and finding ways to help businesses prosper, as well as fostering the spirit of cooperation among businesses. Downtown merchant meetings and programs have assisted in support of these goals. Our “available properties” section of our Web site serves as a clearinghouse for available leasing space.

Organization (Membership/Fundraising)
Chairs: Cindy Ashley

Membership is vital, both financially (to make sure the organization can exist), as well as philosophically. In order to be a true community organization, we need to make sure that as many different facets of the community are represented as possible. Summerville D.R.E.A.M. can help small businesses and individuals realize that they can make a difference in their town. “Because you love Summerville, support Summerville D.R.E.A.M.!”  Fundraising events are necessary to meet the budget and to prepare for the future.
