We deliver hot, nutritious meals to homebound residents of the Summerville area. In most cases, these recipients are senior citizens and our volunteers are the only person they will see all day. We serve around 150 meals per day Monday through Friday.
For almost thirty years Meals on Wheels of Summerville, Inc has delivered hot, nutritious meals to homebound residents of our community. In many cases, these meals mean continued independance for our senior citizens. Our program relies on over 175 volunteers to package and deliver these meals. Monday through Friday delicious meals leave St. Paul's Episcopal Church for delivery to our "clients". Meals on Wheels of Summerville is not a government sponsored program. We rely primarily on donations and grants for financial support. It costs around $4.00 per meal and we delivered just under 40,000 meals in 2011.
